Explanar Home Golf Training Aid

In the early 2000's I was the Director of Golf / Instruction at Cypress Woods in Naples, Florida. I had come off a three year period of being an instructor only and our lesson program was very strong.

An Explanar company representative; nice looking young British gentleman, had visited our practice facility several times attempting to introduce  me to an new instructional aid - The Explanar. Being "Old School" I resisted but told him to come back on Wednesday as I had a ladies beginners clinic. This he did and set the system up, as I was introducing the ladies to GAP (Grip, Alignment, Posture). We worked through this area and then I broke the ladies into pairs to hit balls, most being the first time they had ever swung a club, a difficult task even without the pressure of the sales rep and the assembled teaching aid (a large circle supported on a mat with roller devices rather than clubs). One lady who just couldn't hit the ball at all asked fustratedly if "she could try the Explanar". I told her sure we could  and with assistance from the representative we had her take a few swings . After just 5 swings she blurted "Oh- that's how my hands work!"  and with that she walked over to her station and hit a 7 iron about 90 yards, on line at an amazing trajectory - she was hooked and so was I.

I have used the Explanar in my lessons for over ten years and have always left on the range top for my students and those interested.
